Little Miss Bree

all of us..minus Zach he took the picture. :(

Tim, Laisa and Bree

It was so fun to have the Miller's come visit. We met back in 2006 in So. Pas can't believe it's been that long ago since we lived just a couple doors down in the apartments. Lauren was Bree's age...crazy!! Oh those were such fun days! Game nights many times a week...loved it. Now they live clear across the US in So. Carolina as Tim does his residency. I think you should take a job in UT...fingers crossed! :) We enjoyed catching up, meeting your sweet little girl, and of course playing Settler's!! We sure miss the Miller family and can't wait for the next time we get to visit!!

HAPPIEST PLACE ON EARTH!!

Excuse the pic overload!....but we had a WONDERFUL time at Disneyland with our good friend's from UT, the Davis' family!! We thought we would join in the fun and meet them for a day at the happiest place on earth!! Not only did the kids have a BLAST...so did Gerry and I! I loved how excited my kids were to be with their buddies and to have so much fun! I have to admit I LOVE Disneyland....it is a very happy place for me! :) My only regret...no group picture! Heather and Mike, I guess we will just have to go back again soon!! Thanks for the FUN day! We miss living so close to hang out...so it was great to be able to spend time with your fun family! See you at Christmas!

Visitor!

On Thursday my good friend Laisa came to visit from South Carolina. I have missed Laisa. Her and her husband moved from CA to South Carolina only a couple months ago to start orthopedic residency...and I have missed them. I met Laisa when I moved to CA. We only lived a couple doors away in the same apartment building. And we enjoyed some fun times. We used to put our kids to bed (they don't have any yet...hint hint Miller's :) ) and we would play games and hang out every night. We also would scrapbook together, grocery shop, and just play!! I loved it. When do you ever have a grocery shopping buddy? They were such great friends...even had Zach sleep over when we were at the ER with Lauren. And Tim always answered my medical questions...Oh and Laisa is my boss (paralegal for the attorney I work for). Anyway we for sure miss having them so close. It sure was fun to have Laisa come stay with us for 3 days. (we missed you Tim). I loved just hanging out like the old times!! Thanks Laisa for coming. Come again soon!!
Here are a few pictures I took at Santa Monica Pier. Gerry and Lauren stayed home for the BYU game!
Oh and funny story....we when just arrived to Santa Monica Pier... I said, "We need to see someone famous...they always say in the magazines they are here. " So we kept our eyes out. As we were leaving we saw this guy hanging out his window (no screen) a couple stories up, talking to a lady that was down on the ground. It totally looked like a movie! I said hey isn't that that famous guy. I know him! And I told Laisa to get a picture. So Laisa got a shot of him (my camera battery of course died) picture to come when I get it from Laisa. Oh and as we are taking the picture a couple right by us is taking a pic too and wondering the same thing. Sure enough...Nick Nolty it was! He yelled out the window at us, "Hey folks, how's it going?" I of course froze. Laisa said hi! We were so happy to see our famous person...but didn't know his name until we got home to google it! :)

FUN WEEKEND!!

This past weekend we had a great time in Mesquite! We met our friends Mike and Heather and their adorable kids, that are from Utah, in Mesquite. We met Thursday night and stayed thru Sunday. It was so much fun. Gerry and Mike spent Friday golfing in St. George while Heather, the kids, and I went shopping and to lunch. Then Saturday we hit the shopping outlets in Vegas, I was surprised the kids actually were great the whole time. Later we walked down the strip and enjoyed Vegas night life! I couldn't believe how cold it was. I think we are now used to California weather. The kids and I wore our snow coats, while everyone else did fine with a sweatshirt. Growing up in Utah I never remember Vegas as cold. But it was. Warm or cold it was so great to see our friends! We enjoyed just hanging out, playing games, and laughing. Zach and Lauren were so happy to be with their buddies! We all really enjoyed it! I didn't want to come home! Thanks guys for such a fun weekend! We need to do it again soon!!

Clinton Jacob Hill

This past weekend was a very sad one. One of Gerry's closest friends, Clint Hill passed away from cancer. Gerry met Clint back on their mission when they were companions and have continued to stay close since then. I met Clint about 5 1/2 years ago when Gerry and I were dating. We had some fun times with Clint. He was such a sweet, fun, and kind guy. He always had the biggest smile and could make you laugh. Him and his wife Catherine lived in Idaho and Arizona, so we haven't been able to see them like we would like to. Our hearts have ached since March this year when Clint was diagnosed. We were looking forward to seeing him and Catherine at Christmas, but unfortunately Clint passed away November 26Th. Clint never let on that he was in pain and continued to stay strong. We are deeply sorry for the loss of such a great friend. Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with Catherine and family. Although it's such a sad thing, I am so glad we were able to go to Idaho to attend the funeral services. They brought much peace and comfort knowing Clint is no longer suffering. We are blessed to know Clint, he was such a great friend to Gerry. Clint and the great memories will never be forgotten!

Add on to last post!

So I have to add a little comment to my last post. I know kind of annoying. but I was talking to a girl (I guess we are no longer girls...a lady) in the ward yesterday at that same park. Of course I commented on the warning sign, and the lady told me that a family in our ward lives right close by that park and I guess there has been about 7-8 times that they have looked in there back yard to find a mama bear and cubs cooling off in their swimming pool and drinking it. Insane, huh? I couldn't believe that. I can't imagine finding bears in my backyard. I would die! I couldn't believe it that sign isn't a joke. Anyway, I thought I would share.
