Biking @ Santa Monica

Today we rented bikes at Santa Monica, had a blast of a time, slurped down a snow cone, and enjoyed each other in the warm beautiful weather!!

Nose issues!

I would have never thought this little thing could raise my blood pressure the way it did! Lauren came crying out of the kitchen...I thought she had sniffed some candy up her nose while she was eating it. (Does that make sense?) because she was pointing to her nose. I ask what it was...she said scared as can be "a toy stuck in my nose!" I then got scared. Oh no I have heard of kids putting things in their nose...but not my kid, please! Anyway it was this little piece to Zach's small Lego building thing. Luckily Lauren calmed down enough for me to carefully get the toy out with some tweezers. It's a blessing she didn't shove it up further, and that I was able to do it without pushing it up! SCARED me to death! We now know that NOTHING goes up our nose!!

**Oh and excuse my pictures for the next while (hopefully only 4-6 weeks). My good camera batteries melted inside my camera. (and my other camera is still in Utah...serious camera issues!)So I am in the process of the battery company either fixing or replacing. SAD! But happy that it's not at my expense!

tonights routine

I had an eye appointment right after dinner, so I left dinner uncleaned and kids unbathed. Gerry had to do some work, from home tonight, so I figured he wouldn't be able to clean up. I came home to my kids running out of bed where they were supposed to be sleeping, after many hugs and kisses, I had the kids in bed. As I did the dishes I had....

10 times the kids came out for a drink
5 times the kids came out to blow their nose
1 time I take the night light out of room
2 times I attempt to threaten the door shut...I should learn just to do this for good!
3 times a kid comes out to tattle on the other for some odd reason
1 time one kid throwing up...just acid reflex...more like spit up...can handle that.
1 time a kid complaining of having a nightmare about her ear...however was never asleep
and another 3 times kids coming out for drinks
might I add each time a hug and kiss in between...and starting to use my louder than a 12 inch whisper! :)

just when I think they are in bed for good... Gerry who is listening to music via headphones doing his work on the lap top...sings at the top of his lungs.


Are you kidding me!! What a nightmare...is this only the Lind household? It's time for a new routine!

**Okay maybe that many times the kids came out for drinks is 1/2 truth, but it sure felt like it. and the rest is the full truth!

I MISS this....

Where does time go?? I was just looking through pictures from 2006 and 2007 and I can't believe how much my kids have changed! These pictures are totally random! but it makes me so sad that my babies are growing up too fast!! I always say it, but I really do wish I could just freeze them right now. I love my sweet little people!!

Forgetful!

Over Christmas and New Years we spent 2 weeks in Utah! We had a great time. I haven't posted any pictures...not because I don't want to or I am lazy...but I am a bit forgetful! Santa gave me a great new small camera that I can carry in my purse...well somehow I left Utah without the camera IN my purse....hence the no pictures. And all thougth I took our big camera and hauled it around for 2 weeks....I had too much fun with my new camera, that not even a single picture was taken with our other camera... that did make it home. So no pictures. But I do want to say THANK YOU to all of our family and friends whom spoiled us with great memories, gifts, and a wonderful time!! The best part was being together! Beside the week of stomach flu...which we spread (sorry you all that got it!) we had a FABULOUS time! and can't wait to see you all again! and those we didn't get to see...next time!! We love you all!

Freaking out!!

I have so much to catch up on but....not now!! I am freaking out...I just felt my first real earth quake. Ahhh....I don't like that! at all.. It lasted 2 seconds. and the ground just moved. No big deal, right? Ahhh. Gerry thought it was cool. Not cool at all!

Merry Christmas!

The past 3 years my kids have been visited by Santa early! Santa's car isn't big enough to travel to Utah to deliver on Christmas day. However my kids never complain. Plus they are spoiled more by 3 sets of sweet grandparents in Ut. Well this year it seems like Santa came through on our wish lists because our day was filled with moments like these...and even a couple of these moments..
but mostly moments like these...Now we are off to get ready for that dreadfully long drive to Utah...and yes I had to buy a whole new winter wardrobe for my kids...just for 1 1/2 weeks in the cold. Crazy! But we will take it! I just wanted to say Merry Christmas to all! Sure hope your holiday season is filled with much love and happiness! Love, Becca

SURPRISE SURPRISE!

Oh my goodness I am so mad, sad, ticked, ahhh.. I will say pissed. Because brilliant Becca (is now what I refer to myself as) did something so completely stupid. Gerry was out picking up pizza for dinner and I was trying to figure out what I bought him for Christmas. So I was sitting at the desk and wrote down all that I have bought him. I was actually so impressed with myself for keeping a secret this long. That is something I usually really struggle with...especially if I am excited. Well Brilliant Becca left the list of things I bought him at the desk...I guess too excited to eat! :) As I was cleaning up dinner I realized, as Gerry was sitting at the desk....THE LIST! Crap as I walked over, Gerry holds up the list and says so this is what you getting me? And I think he might have been disappointed. I seriously started screaming to tell him to stop...too late! So I think I may be shopping to find something a little more exciting...and try to surprise him. DANG IT! I am so mad at myself. So much for surprises!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GERRY!!

I wanted to wish Gerry a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! You are my best friend! I am so blessed to have such a wonderful, thoughtful, sweet husband and father to our kids! Thank you for being the greatest! We love you! Love, me and kids

LET IT SNOW * LET IT SNOW * LET IT SNOW

With no snow or freezing weather...it's kind of hard to believe that it is winter! So we decided it was time to see some snow...or soap foam! We took the kids to Americana (cool outdoor shopping center if you aren't from here) last night. Everynight from mid Nov.-Christmas they drop snow from the top of the stores. So we joined the crowds and enjoyed the Christmas lights, water fountain, and of course SNOW!! It was a bit windy so the snow didn't fall as hard as I think it could have...but hey it will do until we hit the real snow in Utah in a week! I think I might just enjoy wearing flip flops and seeing soap foam! However seeing family and friends is worth the bitter cold snow! You can't even see the snow in the pictures...but it was a fun night to enjoy each other!

(Hello!)

Did you know in the state of sweet California that if you want to send a note home from school with the student, it has to be in English...as well as Spanish. What the crap... I guess those that speak spanish should be able to get the messages too! But that just made my job even harder as a room parent. Oh yeah and I have to find a translator to translate the message too! hmmm? Interesting wouldn't you say? Funny part is...1st off I have never taken a foreign language except sign language so I am completely unaware of everything. So the morning that I am trying to send this letter out to the parents of Zach's class, I find out this law. So I hurry and call Gerry, " hurry Gerry go online and look up the words for this letter please!" Yeah I wasn't aware it's not just switching words...it's completely different sentence structure and the whole bit. Guess it is time to go back to school and learn Spanish. It might even get me a straw at Wendy's instead of a napkin! I am not trying to be rude...honestly it would benefit me greatly to learn spanish! If only I would have known way back when I was in school. However the student I was...probably wouldn't have done anything different!~ Dang it. I will say I cheated the system and sent home a letter yesterday in English only...shhh! And yes my life is quite boring at this moment that I am posting about such a thing. I just thought you might all want to know!

1st attempt...

I am trying to get my Christmas card family pictures taken and actually doable! Does anyone else experience tough times at these very moments? Or is it just my kids? Okay I guess I ruined the pictures! Well this is what our picture taking looked like! And no...not one of these will work. Take like 10 pounds off each of my stinkin cheeks! Honestly brilliant idea Becca to wear blush...I never wear blush, but didn't want to be pasty...instead chipmunk cheeks! They are from the blush...I swear!!!! Well I guess I better go running before I take the real picture! Anyway I still die laughing at these pictures of my kids, their little personalities are captured perfectly...Zach marching around and Lauren jumping and being her silly self. Great memories! At least I can laugh about it, right? On to our next attempt....
