Soccer Begins...

Zach had his 1st soccer game on Saturday. I almost said forget it. It was awfully hot. I mean HOT! When I signed him up for soccer I thought Vegas people would only play a sport if it was reasonable weather. Either I am not adjusted to the temp. or people are crazy. I seriously felt bad for Zach out on the field running. I tried to be a positive cheerleader! :) Zach told the coach he wanted to be goalie part of the game, which he did awesome at...smart move required less running! :) Zach played great and we were so proud of him! I look forward to the season...especially once it cools down!

Our Little Preschooler!!

Monday Lauren started preschool. She loved it! I was a bit nervous because ever since I have talked about her going to preschool she has said, "I go preschool ALL by MYSELF?!?" Last year we did a mommy and me preschool...so this year would be some change. Once she got her Tinker Bell "pack pack" (aka back pack) she has been thrilled. I think meeting her teacher Miss Lesly, at orientation also helped. With pack pack in hand Lauren walked in and didn't turn back! She was so brave and loved every minute! I thought I was going to be sad...of course I missed her. but I was just so proud of my little baby girl!! Who is growing up!! She brings so much joy to our lives! and I am just so happy to have her in our family!


The highlights in Lauren's 1st day of preschool were:

playing on the playground, painting with her favorite colors, reading books, singing songs, snack time, and she was good, "Mom I only did good things...not bad things!" You could say the day was a success!! WE LOVE YOU LAUREN!!

WAY overdue and many things skipped!

I LOVE LOVE overcast, raining days in Vegas!! You can actually walk to your car without needing to turn around for a 2nd shower! Saturday was the perfect day to venture up into the mountains...okay 5 miles up...and we found Red Rock National Park (quite small...only 13 miles drive) but very pretty! The kids enjoyed our small trail hike in the light rain and were so sad when the 13 miles (driving that is) came to an end!

I am a lame blogger now! But today we found out what we are having so I thought I would update! Gerry is offically calling it Frank the tank and the newest is Goliath!! That's right it's a boy!! We are thrilled! We will however be working on some better names!! :) No pictures because I am too lazy to upload and we are on our way out of town!! But wanted to let you all know our exciting news and say Happy 4th of July!! Love ya all! Becca

New Friends!

Moving to a whole new state and not having any friends or family can be hard...at least for me. But you know us the out going people we are, made friends quickly!! :) Meet our new friend

However after I got in the car and said the title of what our new friend produced, a u-turn was quickly made by Gerry. He said my 1st clue was the dog on the cover...I guess Marley and Me is a kids movie. I thought with Owen Wilson and Jennifer Aniston it would be good. Gerry has decided that he will be the one to visit our new friend! Either way we are happy about our new friend...Red Box. (California never had these.)

I know lame post....just wanted you all to know we are alive and well and hot here in Vegas!!

Super Nanny??

Does anyone ever feel like they need Super Nanny to come to their house?? Or should I be embarrassed that I just asked? Crap! Bedtime is early tonight!

Welcome Home Sam!!

Have I ever mentioned I hate living away from family?? :) I know I know... always! Well especially today because my sweet little brother arrived home from serving his mission in North Lima Peru!! I am so very proud of him and so happy he is home! I did get a phone call right after he got off the plane...but that isn't the same as the big hug I have waiting....until then, I love you Sam and so happy your home!!

Easter Best (for the Grandma's)

More Big News...

So having a baby just wasn't exciting enough...we thought we needed more to add to this year. Well Gerry got a good job offer in Las Vegas that we couldn't pass...so we are moving in like a month. That is right... we are going to Vegas baby!! Crazy huh? It still hasn't quite registered...way to much excitement for me! We are excited, but of course we will miss many things about CA. And change is always a bit scary for me! So if anyone knows of good area's to live in Vegas...please do share!! And for sure come visit!

Big News....

After many many many times of trying these not because we have been waiting for a long time...just because I am completely impatient...I got a lot of these Finally I got one of these!! Which means we are having one of these So whether it comes out looking like this or this We currently look like this!!

My sneaky little baker...

While I was in the shower the other morning...Lauren came in and got some water from the sink. I could only imagine what she was up to. After showering and getting dressed, I realized Lauren was quite content in her room and was soundless....not a good thing around here! This is what I found...Lauren surprised me with her own recipe for cookies!

Grandma Heslop

My sweet Grandma Heslop passed away this afternoon and although I am happy that she is now free of pain and in such a better place...I will miss her dearly! My Grandma Heslop is actually my step grandma...but you would have never known it. That was the amazing thing, she never made me think that I was anything but her granddaughter! There was no "step" in the loving grandma that she was to me! She took me and my siblings in as her own grandkids! At age 9 I still remember her loving acceptance from day 1 of coming into the family! I don't know how she did it... she always made me feel so welcome! Her and my Grandpa have been there for everthing for me. and have done so much for me! I have so many wonderful memories. I have been so blessed to have her in my life! I will forever remember her as my sweet little Grandma which always welcomed me with the same big smile, loving hug...and the sweet kind voice "Oh Becca!" she would say! I love that amazing women and she will always be in my heart!

I love you Grandma and may you know how thankful I am for you being a part of my life! ~Becca

My little Missionary...

Zach is quite the big brother. He loves to teach Lauren all sorts of new things. I caught him teaching her about Nephi in the Book of Mormon. What a sweet moment to find my little ones getting along and reading the scriptures! Excuse the underwear...it was right after bath time...and this is Zach's preference of pj's! And I couldn't tell him to get dressed because I had to sneak a picture of this sweet moment!

As Zach would say... FOUL!!

On Sunday I was opening this can of water chestnuts to chop up for dinner and right as the can opened, I had a big black surprise! I honestly starting dry heaving! Is that not the most nasty thing...a big black hair in my can? SICK! Although I had another can of water chestnuts, I opted those out of our meal! The funny thing is, Zach was just as sick about it. He kept asking clear up until we finally sat down for dinner, if we were going to be eating those. He must have lost his appetite too! I still start to heave when I think of water chestnuts! I guess I would lose weight if this happened more often! :)

Baseball Begins!!

Zach started baseball practice a month ago and we are excited that the fun has now began...game time! The league had their "Open Ceremony" all morning Saturday, they are not messing around here! And then our 1st game was tonight! I get a little too excited and involved sometimes...just the cheerleader that I am! :) haha. Anyway, I think my little ball player is the cutest on the field and I am excited to see more of him in action! Between 2 practices and 2 games a week...I guess you could say we will be playing the all American game of baseball...quite regularly! Go Georgetown Hoyas!
