WAY TO GO ZACH!!

Zach graduated from 1st grade today! I am so proud of him and how well he did in school. I don't want to brag...but it's my blog, right? Well he was top in his class in math. For reading the CA reading fluency is 80 words a minute and Zach read 111 words per minute! What a smartie! He gets that from Gerry...of course!

I told Zach last night I was excited to have him home all day in the summer. And that we are going to have lots of fun together. He said, "yeah..." and as I was walking off said, "...but we don't really have that much fun!" Ouch...I have to admit it hurt my feelings. So after he was in bed. I went straight to the calendar and planned out the FUN outings we ARE going to have!!

Congrats Zach!! You are the best little 1st grader! I am so proud of you! I LOVE YOU!

Fun Facts!!

Anyone ever seen this? Yeah, one member of our family (not going to mention any names) didn't really think this was for real. I will say it wasn't me! I believed in the seat without having to get a ticket. Well we experienced this last Sunday. Dang it! I told Gerry if we lived in Utah, a street away from the church, we wouldn't have come to believe this theory so quickly. Well $93.00 later and we are ALL now firm believers!! We now CLICK IT!!Another fact. Well for some reason it's almost been a week since I finished my antibiotic for bronchitis and I am still sick! Last week my doctor called me in an inhaler to help the coughing spells...I was fed up with peeing my pants every time I coughed...I know way to much information! Well I now am experiencing along with my nasty cough, white spots all over the back of my throat...yes, this is known as strep! Can you give me a stinking break! Why am I always sick? My doctor called in another antibiotic and said in all the years she has only seen 1 other person who is resistant to the medicine I was on the 1st time. Crazy...I made the charts for #2. Lucky!

Doozie!

I am going to be a downer for just a minute! It's been quite the 2 weeks! I tell you ever since we got home from Hawaii...it's been a Doozie! Just to tell a little...or you may not enjoy reading my blog again. Well when we got home from vacation I got sick with this nasty cough, which Gerry also had. Anyway long story, I ended up getting bronchitis. Then the next day woke up with pink eye. Why? I don't know. but it just adds to the grand time we were having. During all this, not last Tuesday but the a week before (almost 2 weeks) Gerry went to young mens, where they were playing basketball. Within 40 mins of Gerry leaving he called me and said he got hurt and was on his way home. Well poor thing landed wrong on his ankle. Sad. (this is right after)

The next day he was in so much pain, went and had x-rays, and was told no brake. Well a week and half past...he is in tons of pain, unable to care for his sick baby with bronchitis (me), and me not to capable of taking care of my crippled baby (Gerry) finally call the doc.

(This picture was a couple days after the accident...not yet the worst. I didn't get a picture at it's worst...it was too nasty!)Gerry ends up having to go see an orthopedic surgeon, who takes one look at Gerry's enormous ankle which is bright red, realizes he tore 2 ligaments and it got infected...not a good thing. So now he is on crutches, in a boot, and on medicine and doing better. And will see the doc this Tuesday.So we are on the up and up. Honestly my house is a terrible mess, I am a mess, my kids are a mess...can I say I want my mommy! I honestly have wanted to cry. But I am not coughing up my guts, as much! So this week I may clean my house!

How sad...here I am a mope! We truly are blessed. My kiddies haven't gotten my sickness...knock on wood. and these things are only minor. I do think Gerry also wants his mommy! He said he is not sure who is going to take care of him when he is old. Sad! I have been sick too! :) I did manage to get him a bowl of cereal!

But on a happy note... it was a beautiful day yesterday! The kids enjoyed slippin slidin in the backyard and we hit In-n-Out and the park for a picnic yesterday evening. So we are a little slow with the "hopper" but we are mending.

Hawaii!!

I can't believe we have been home a week now! Life has been busy. Gerry and I finally got to take a vacation other then to Utah! As much as I love Utah...Hawaii was absolutely fabulous. We flew out early morning on the 17th and flew into O'ahu and spent the day in Honolulu at Waikiki Beach and just hung out. We were overwhelmed with how busy it was and thought it was an upscale LA. We flew out that night to the island of Kauai, also known as The Garden Island. Which exactly what it was. Covered completely with beautiful scenery. Once we got there we decided this was our kind of vacation. There is a rule on the island that no buildings can be built bigger than a palm tree. Also Kauai is a very small island...you can drive around it in 2 1/2 hours. It was absolutely amazing. If you have never been then you MUST go! We stayed up in Princeville area, which is on the North Shore if you are familiar with the island. It was gorgeous! We hit as many beaches as we could. Some days we would beach hop, others hang out at our favorite ones. It's funny because one morning while eating breakfast we were watching Good Morning America and it was naming Americans most beautiful beaches. And ranked #2 was Hanalei Beach, Kauai Hawaii. That day we were laying out on that beach! Crazy huh? It was the most relaxing vacation ever. One day we did do a little work... we went on a kayaking/hiking tour. It wasn't as easy as I thought it would be. We started with a 45 min. kayaking then hiked 30 mins up to a beautiful waterfall, had lunch, then kayaked back 45 mins. It was so stinking fun. We also rented snorkeling gear and enjoyed seeing the fishes. Gerry is more expert in this area...and went out a lot further in the ocean then I did. He actually got to see a bunch of sea turtles, 2 different times. He said it was so cool to just sit there and watch them eat, and swim to the top for air. I took his word for it. I was too chicken to go out that far! It was tons of fun! Our absolute favorite thing was to eat their famous shaved ice w/ macadamia nut ice cream on the bottom (yum) and layout, read, listen to music, and enjoy the beautiful beaches! Our last day we flew back to Honolulu and went to lunch and did some souvenir shopping and went to see Pearl Harbor, we didn't go in because it was Memorial weekend...packed...but we enjoyed the beautiful sunset there and then had an overnight flight back to LA. It was perfect. and a much needed vacation. Thanks to Grandma Lind for making it possible and coming out and taking care of Zach and Lauren. Who thought they were on vacation too, with all the fun they had with Grandma and Aunt Rhiannon!! What a great time. We will be back...it honestly is the most beautiful place. Love it! It was also great to have sweet Zach and Lauren's hugs when we got home!! Here are some pictures from our vacation. I took over 300...I just couldn't get enough!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ZACHARY!! (May 24th)

I can not believe my baby boy is now 7 years old!! It honestly seems like yesterday that I had him. Time truly flies. My life has never been the same since I had Zach. I am so blessed to have him!! He brings so much joy and happiness to our family! He is the best boy! I love him so much!

Gerry and I were on vacation for Zach's birthday so no pictures of his birthday...yet. He was lucky to be able to celebrate with Grandma Lind and Aunt Rhiannon while we were away! but we are celebrating today!

Mother's Day Treasure

So I have to share my sweetest Mother's Day gift from Zach. He made me a cute book at school. He couldn't wait to give it to me. It was so cute how excited he was about it. He didn't want to keep a secret...so he told me, "I made you a book, but I am just not going to tell you what it is!" I was laughing. And with no surprise it was adorable. My favorite part is the question that asks, if your mom had $100 what would she buy? He said, "a van!" Haha. I Love my precious book.

Okay this one is so much better! After watching this I decided I {heart} Edward! I think he will be great! Ahh and cannot wait! I am just realizing it doesn't come out until Dec. What? This will be replayed lots! Until then...ENJOY!!

My Sweet Kids!!

I am way behind on blogging! I was "kid" tagged awhile ago. So I thought I would finally do it! So here goes a little bit about my sweet kids! Thanks for the tag Joy!

Zachary Gerald Lind

1. Zach is such a social guy! Since he was a baby he would go to anyone! I remember shopping at the store and a lady walked by while he was in the cart and he couldn't even talk...but he started reaching for her. He honestly just loves people. His first word was even "hi". Not mama. "Hi". He loves to make new friends. Whether it be the store or the park, he is always looking for someone to be his friend. When he was little and I would take him to the park and if when we pulled up there were no kids, he would say lets go to another park with kids! He loves people! and loves to make friends!

2. He has such a tender little heart! Honestly... I am not just saying this. He is always trying to help people. Just the other day we were at Rubio's and the guy in front of us came to get his food and couldn't carry it all. So Zach asked if he wanted him to carry it for him. (The guy of course looked at him like he was crazy...rude guy) But Zach just wanted to help! I love that. Also my favorite story is when Zach was around 4 years old. My sister Malinda took Zach to the park and Zach was playing and saw this kid that needed help, so he ran over to help him. Then came back and told my sister that the Holy Ghost told him to help that kid. I just love what a sweet boy he is! He is so thoughtful and caring!

3. Zach loves games. He LOVES video games. He could play all day, everyday! We used to let him play a lot. but realized that if he wasn't playing he was talking about playing. He even reads the video game insert. It's hilarious! So now it's more of a reward for him to get to play. (If he is nice at church! and doesn't' get in trouble at school!) It's funny because he will play the full 10-12 hour drive from CA to UT on his Nintendo DS...no problem. He loves to have anyone watch him play. And if he can't play, he would be completely content just watching you play. He LOVES his games. We have got him now more into board games and sports and told him too much Nintendo will turn his brain to mush. We wouldn't want that to happen!

Lauren Lucille Lind

1. Lauren is truly our little princess! She loves everything girly! and is a true girl. At age 2 she loves to shop, loves shoes, loves jewelry, and everything pink. I always wanted a girly girl to be my little shopping buddy. I honestly didn't train her this way. It's funny, I didn't know at this young of age you could be so girly! She is! She wears dress up high heels all through the house...and would wear them out if I let her. She actually is better at walking and running in high heels then I am! She loves to raid my purse and take my receipts and put them in her purse. Too bad she is learning to fill the purse like her mother. I better start keeping a clean purse!

2. Lauren is very opposite from Zach in the social aspect. It's so funny how different they are. She is a complete mama's girl. When she was a baby, I thought it was so cute that she wanted me, and that she would cry for me. But that soon became not so cute, when Gerry insisted I take her everywhere, because the screaming was too much!! She has grown out of the attached to me thing. but still is very shy. It makes me feel safer knowing that she won't just go to anyone. She is getting braver. She now will go actually go to nursery at church. Yeah! But I do like knowing that I am important to her!

3. Lauren LOVES her brother Zach! And he adores her! Her 1st word wasn't mama either! It was "ZACH!" She wakes and looks for her buddy Zach. They get along great...most of the time! They are 4 years apart, and I wasn't sure how it would be when they were little. (my sister and I are 4 years apart and really close...so I didn't worry too much) Lauren does everything Zach does. She copies every move. At times it causes problems because she wants everything he has. She recently started enjoying Zach's boy cartoon shows. and now is also a Ben 10 and Avatar fan (tv shows). It's pretty funny how girly she is but runs around playing guns with him. She wants to be just like her big brother! Just last night, the cutest thing ever...Gerry was tucking them in bed (great daddy) and said to Zach, "Your a good guy Zach." and Lauren perked up and said, "me good guy, me good guy!" Yes she is also a good guy too!

I am so blessed with 2 of what I think are the best and cutest kids! I love my kids so much. I can't imagine my life without them! They make me smile and laugh all day long! They are mine and Gerry's greatest joy! I remember when I was young saying I never wanted kids! (I was too scared of the pain! :) ) They are worth everything and more!! My kids have changed my life! I never imagined motherhood so great! But now I know and wouldn't trade it for ANYTHING!!!

WAY TO GO NATALIA!!~

Man, have I ever mentioned that I miss UTAH? Well the #1 reason is because I miss family.

And just this past weekend we missed a big event. My sister-in-law, Natalia graduated from BYU !! I am so bummed that we couldn't be there to congratulate her in person! So this will have to do. We are so proud of you! Way to go Talia! I am so happy for you to be all done. Now you can focus on being a mommy! (yeah- baby niece coming Aug!!) I am so excited for you Natalia. We love you! We wish we could have been there to celebrate with you!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY RHIANNON!!

I feel just awful! It's not that I forgot, but I forgot to get my post up on the right day!! Rhiannon please forgive me!~

I just wanted to now wish my sister-in-law Rhiannon a belated HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! I sure hope it was a great day! I thought of you all day and wished I lived closer to take you to lunch and play some games later with the the family. Rhiannon is such a great sister-in-law...I am so blessed to have WONDERFUL in-laws! I instantly like Rhiannon when I met her. I miss having 24 parties, going to your card parties, shopping, and of course playing games!! Rhiannon is the sweetest game player...well if she is on your side! :) Just teasing! Thanks Rhiannon for being such a great sister-in-law as well as a great friend! I love ya! and hope your birthday was GREAT! Come see us soon! We miss you, Rannon!!

AHHHH!!!!!!

I am so excited!! If you didn't know I LOVE LOVE to scrapbook! Gerry thinks I could do it all day everyday...maybe! Well first off, moving from Utah to California was so hard in my scrapbooking love...because California does not have even 1/4 the scrapbook stores that Utah does. Well when we moved to Monrovia...I found my new love...Scrap N' Yap! A fabulous scrapbook store with all new products and totally up to date scrapbook products. I was so excited. Well about a month ago I decided to be brave an turn in some of my scrapbooking work and apply at Scrap N' Yap to teach scrapbook classes! Well I found out last night they liked my work and they want me to start teaching in July/Aug since they already have through June classes planned out. I am so so thrilled...this is honestly my dream job! I don't even know what they pay, or how it works or anything. I am just so excited!! So I thought I would share my exciting news!! yeah!

Beach Bonfire!!

Last night we had a blast meeting some friends at the beach for a bonfire! The weather was perfect! It is my favorite to be on the beach at night and roast hot dogs, and smores...oh and of course Starburst! (if you haven't tired roasted Starbursts, it's yummy!) I have always liked campfires in the mountains, but nothing compares to the beautiful beach...gorgeous view, sound of the waves, and NO bugs!!!

The kids loved playing with the other kids. What a fun time we had! We will miss our friends the Miller's and Pulsipher's when they move!( but congrats on graduating and your new move! We will miss you!!) But we luckily can still get together with the Snow family! Thanks everyone...lots of fun! My only regret is not getting more pictures of the kids... Next time! Let's do it again soon!!

LONG GONE!!

As much as I love Lauren's hair long...I thought a cut would be fun. Since I can't wear my hair short, I thought I could get my short hair envy through my child! And of course I thought Lauren would look adorable with a little bob. However once discussing the length with the beautician...I chickened out on chin length. I was going to cut all of it the length of the bangs we have been growing out....maybe next time! Long or short she is adorable!!

When we got to Fantastic Sam's (I know...quite high end wouldn't you say :)) I was worried what Lauren would do, because every time when I am doing Lauren's hair and she screams or gets inpatient, I will say to her, "okay let's just cut your hair!" And that gets her all still! I know what an awful mother, but it does the trick. I was totally regretting that when we got there! But Lauren sat perfectly still and with her big brother there for moral support, it went great.

I love how it turned out. Short and sweet for the summer!

My Favorite!

I love conference! This conference seemed to be my favorite. Maybe because my kids were so good to color and work on their conference packets! I enjoyed every talk.

My very favorite was by M. Russell Ballard about motherhood. I so needed this talk. My favorite part was...

"...the biggest mistake I made is the one that most of us make...I did not live in the moment enough. This is particularly clear now that the moment is gone, captured only in photographs. There is one picture of the three of [my children] sitting in the grass on a quilt in the shadow of the swing set on a summer day, ages 6, 4 and 1. And I wish I could remember what we ate, and what we talked about, and how they sounded, and how they looked when they slept that night. I wish I had not been in such a hurry to get on to the next thing: dinner, bath, book, bed. I wish I had treasured the doing a little more and the getting it done a little less."

What a great talk! Now if I can just remember this and be a better mother and wife! And put all my time into my family. So enough blogging and back to family life! :)
