HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

We actually carved our pumpkins as a family last night! Every year we seem to run out of time. The kids were excited... I was too! We had fun carving our masterpieces! :) Gerry helped carve Zach's and I carved Laurens... knife and little kids...don't mix well. Am I just paranoid!? Either way it was great fun! I also have to admit this was the best pumpkin I have ever carved. You could actually tell it was a face! :) We hope everyone has a very safe and HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Love ya,
The Linds!

**Now we are off to TRICK-OR-TREAT!! Yeah!**

Backyard Campout~

Saturday night Gerry thought it would be fun to set up the tent in the backyard and have a little camp out! The kids also thought this was the greatest idea ever. Gerry brought out one of our tv's and we watched Narnia together until it got cold. We have only been camping once for real....we need to attempt that more often. Anyway the kids were excited to climb in their sleeping bags....and by 9:30pm we were all in the house tucked in our beds asleep!!

Ward Halloween Party~

On Friday the kids were thrilled to get dressed in their costumes for the ward Halloween party! It was so funny after getting Lauren's hair, make-up and costume on. She said, "Me need my prince!" I was laughing so hard. She wasn't joking either. What a real princess! :)

Zach was a mean Captain Jack Sparrow. At first he was worried about wearing my eye liner all over his face. But after seeing the final results he was off to find some treasure! I was happy to hear Zach say he never wanted long hair! I told him I agreed and told him he will never come home with long hair!

Although not too many picture at the party...the kids had a great time, as did Gerry and I! I love Halloween! and we are excited for.... of course trick or treating!

Grandpa &Grandma Lind & Aunt Rannon Visit!!

We have been so lucky this month with visitors! Just this last weekend we were thrilled to have Gerry's parents and sister come stay with us. The kids were so happy to see them. We had a great time while they were here...but as I always say time went too fast!

Thursday our special guests arrive ...of course no pictures..dang it! We had a dinner party with the huge upset BYU game. Hey the season's not over! :) Okay, I nothing about football...but high hopes for the team!
Friday we spent the day at Knotts Berry Farm. Which was great fun. The park wasn't busy at all which meant quick lines! Loved it! I am such a scaredy cat...but always happy at the end of the scary rides! :) This time around Zach was pretty confidant on the rides which was really cute to see him all grown up. And Lauren really enjoyed her kind of rides too! It was a great day! We had a little...okay a big scare at the end of the day (another post to come!) but it ended wonderfully! We got drenched on the Big Foot Rapids ride...but then Ed, Rhiannon, Gerry and I went on this other boat water slide (I think more like a drop off) twice in a row and was soaking wet!! So fun!Funny story on Lauren's hat...I always try to put a hat on her when out in the sun too long because of her scar under her eye...sun makes scares darker or something. Anyway, I forgot a hat so I sent Gerry to buy one. Well he came back with this baby hat. I mean Lauren's small and all...but not this small. Gerry threw away the receipt so we couldn't exchange it. So Lauren strutted this little cap. Sweet Gerry! Either way Lauren was adorable!
This picture was taken by flash on the dark train ride...Lauren was terrified. Her eyes were so big. She just held Zach's and Rhiannon's hand and didn't even cry. Saturday we went to Zach's soccer game. Which he did great! And won! Then we hung out and in the evening went up to Mount Wilson to overlook LA county and watched the beautiful sunset....amazing! Again I forgot my camera. I need to steal some pictures from Ed. It was beautiful. Then we hit Old Town Pasadena to do some shopping...then off to In n Out! And of course we ended the night with some Ticket to Ride. I need some practice on that game! But it was a fun time! Thank you Ed, Becky and Rhiannon for a wonderful weekend! The best part was just being together! We love you and miss you already!

Grandpa Lynch and Granny Come!!!

We were thrilled to have my Dad and Lyn come out and stay with us for the weekend. Time went too fast. But we enjoyed every minute. Friday afternoon the kids were impatiently waiting for Grandpa and Granny and couldn't believe the time finally had come...I had been using our long awaited company as a cleaning tool!Once Gerry got home from work, my parents took us to The Cheesecake Factory! Yummy! and then went home and hung out enjoying our company!Saturday Zach had an early soccer game, so we went to breakfast this yummy place we have never tried which was so good and then hit the soccer game. Zach was really nervous having extra fans and I think got a bit flustered. He was killing me when he started waving as running down the field and smiling for pictures taken by Granny. He was even posing when he was goal keeper. It was hilarious! After the game we went out to Manhattan Beach and walked out to on the pier to the aquarium and saw the cool fish. The kids loved being able to feel the starfish. While we out on the Pier we even were lucky to see a few sets of dolphins really close by. It was cool. I have only seen them at Sea World...so that was fun. Then we hit a nice restaurant right by the beach and had some yummy fish. YUM! After we went back to the house to rest up and hear the end of the BYU game and hung out. We then went to dinner...I have never ate so good in 1 day! Thanks Lyn and Dad! We had such a great time and enjoyed staying up late talking. Early Sunday morning the kids enjoyed jumping on Grandpa and Granny's bed and playing! Sorry about the loud awakening! We sure had fun! Thank you Lyn and Dad. The best part was just being with you and spending time together! I miss you already! WE LOVE YOU!!

**Pictures are taken by Lyn...my camera is going to the shop...THANK YOU LYN!!

SWEET!!

Tonight Zach and Lauren were having a snack before bed and I overheard this...

Lauren: "Zach you best friend me!"

Zach: "Thanks!"

How stinking sweet! I love it! My kids remind what life is all about!

Germphobia and Head Honcho

As many of you may know I am a germ phob! I am paranoid that we will catch everything, which we tend to do. Honestly I have my kids wash their hands all the time. Sweet Gerry even puts up with me telling him to wash his hands when he comes home from work! :) Poor guy! This is why I am a germ phob...
I went into help out in Zach's class and was sitting at a table with a group of kids. Zach was sitting next to me and the girl next to him, elbows touching might I add, started saying her stomach hurt. In my head I was like, "holy crap, are you serious!" I can't handle stomach flu! I told her maybe she should go tell the teacher. So she left and we continued on. While I am mentally preparing myself for stomach flu next week, the same sweet girl comes back with her backpack and getting some papers. Everyone was asking why she was going home. And I thought because she threw up or something. Oh no that was not it....she was pointing to her head. And everyone was confused. She announced, "Head lice!" HOLY CRAP are you kidding me!! Poor little girl! but honestly I can't do that! I have been crawling and making Gerry check my hair ever since! I came home washed my hair quickly. Then when Zach got home, I buzzed his hair. They say that hairspray and hair products the lice like. So Zach is now strutting a buzz! I just hope we never get lice...knock on wood!
One other fun story. I say funny so I laugh and not cry! Unlike last year where every parent in Zach's class wanted to help and be the room parent, this year no one wants to help! I think it's sad. I signed up as one of the assistant room parents so I could help but not be in charge. I take orders better then giving them (in some cases). Well last week I was called and asked to be the head room parent for the class since no else signed up. So it's all me...no one to give orders to! I thought okay I can handle this, with Lauren a little older she will be easier to handle then 2 years ago when I did this and just stressed the teacher out! Well then same day as the head lice, I found out that they put me as head parent over all 5 2nd grade classes! WHAT? I feel honored...that's a joke! I am a little stressed since 2 of the classes don't even have a room parent! Oh and we have a fall festival in less then 15 days to have a booth at and need 12 helpers. And what have I got myself into....Lice and responsibility!! Wish me luck...that we don't get lice and that I don't ruin all of 2nd grade! Maybe we should home school....JOKE!!

Halloween Treats!

I think I have started to early on the Halloween treats! They honestly have started replacing my meals! I love all the yummy candy! Well I was at the park with Lauren yesterday and she came running up to me (I was slouched over, please give me that) and she patted my belly and said, "Mama's belly big!" and laughed. Dang it! Does this mean I need to start working out? I guess I better stop buying all that yummy Halloween candy!
